How the park came to be
The reserve combines the Nauradehi and Veerangana Durgavati wildlife sanctuaries and was notified in 2023. It is named after Rani Durgavati, the 16th-century Gond queen who ruled this region.
Tigers were brought here from Kanha and Bandhavgarh from 2018 and have bred well. Nauradehi's grasslands were also once shortlisted for cheetah reintroduction.
